Ukrainian police clearance certificates are processed and issued by Ministry of Interior (Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) and its territory service centres through all Ukraine (Kiev/Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkov, Dnepr, Krivoy Rog, Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Severodonetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson, Nikolaev, Odessa, Kirovograd/Kropivnitskiy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Lutsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod, Chernivtsi). Police clearance certificates (police records, criminal records, certificate of good conduct, criminal check) from Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine are required for residents and non-residents of Ukraine in many situations like visa proceeding procedurers, documents formalization, immigration and citizenship formalities, business tenders etc.
Now Ukrainian police certificates have the unified design and particulars showing information about applicant’s criminal background in Ukraine and they are processed by the one database, so applicant’s current place of stay doesn’t matter in this case. The respective ministry has options to check authenticity of the issued certificate using their web site. The normal term of validity of the Ukrainian certificate of good conduct is 3 months upon its issue, but some organizations and offices may change this term for 4-6 months. The issued police clearance certificate from Ukraine is valid for all countries and territories, but in most cases additional procedures are required (apostille/legalization, translation, notarization, consular attestation).
